From Forest to Energy

The first Swedish Forest Power Seminar 'From Forest to Energy' was held on the 15th of October in Umeå and attracted approximately 70 delegates, from forest owners to representatives from the energy sector and national authorities.
Main topics for the seminar were the potential of biomass in the region, costs and techniques for stump harvesting and the understanding of ashes in combustion of different forest products.
In addition the Swedish Forest Agency gave their view on the possibilities and restrictions regarding stump extraction. Below Clas Fries and Jenny Stendahl from the Agency are interviewed by moderator Eva Fridman from BioFuel Region.
